Imagine a place where after-school hours aren’t just about homework but about creating projects that blend science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) into something amazing. With support from their mentors, youth planned, pitched, and presented STEAM projects–all in 10 weeks–after school. And on Friday, April 26th, the spring cohort had the opportunity to share their projects with our supportive community.
Below are a few projects from the Spring C4K Youth Project Showcase!

Flower Lantern
Brendalyn made a 3-D printed, Arduino-controlled electronic flower that opens and closes and changes color using Bluetooth. Brendalyn selected this project because it allowed her to combine two of her interests: robotics and art.

Marble Run
Inspired by marble runs, Demari, built his own Lego masterpiece using engineering and coding. He even designed and 3D printed missing parts.
Humans of IX Park
Emma wanted to explore photography/videography, so she created a mini-documentary about some of the businesses in IX. Emma learned that editing takes a lot of time and patience!
Phone Holder and AirPod Charger
Iker designed and printed an all-in-one phone holder and AirPod charger. While working on this project, Iker was surprised at how quickly he became proficient with TinkerCad, a 3-D design web app.
