Advocating for Youth Voice: C4K Staff and Youth Members Present at MENTOR Virginia and VPOST Conference

C4K believes in listening to, learning from, and celebrating young people. Providing youth with opportunities to speak at conferences is one way we do this.

C4K members Desi and Asad, and C4K Staff member, Tricia Howell, are presenting at the MENTOR Virginia and Virginia Partnership For Out-of-School Time’s (VPOST) Annual Conference. The workshop, “Amplify Youth Voice,” will share how youth practitioners can embed youth choice into everyday programming, develop Youth Leadership Councils, and support youth as they onboard and train mentors. Participants will leave the workshop with strategies for giving youth agency over their own experiences.

Meet the Presenters

Giving youth a voice at C4K demonstrates our commitment to making youth feel like they belong, are valued, and their contributions matter. These feelings help them engage and develop leadership skills.

Thank you, Desi and Asad, for your willingness to share your perspectives and for helping us grow!
