Mentoring LGBTQQ+ Youth

At C4K, we follow the nationally recognized mentoring best practices that are laid out in MENTOR’s, “Elements for Effective Practice for Mentoring.” MENTOR recently published a supplement to this book, intended to provide additional research and practitioner-informed recommendations for youth mentoring programs to more effectively serve lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ) youth—as well as LGBTQ volunteers and other stakeholders.

“Youth-serving agencies with inclusive programming & safe climates appear to offer additional levels of protection for LGBTQ+ youth against risks, like depression, that can lead to suicide.” – MENTOR

We encourage all involved with C4K to read the LGBTQ Supplement to the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring Youth.
